Chef Ray Agishi has 30+ years of experience preparing artful food for some of Southern California’s most highly regarded Japanese restaurants and clientele. He is now taking that experience and their passion for food to make their own culinary marks in Pacific Beach. The Izakaya PB team is constantly at work combining comforting flavors with modern culinary techniques and ingredients in order to create new and exciting takes on modern Japanese tapas.
Chef Ray has decades of experience working at critically acclaimed restaurants throughout California, most notably Nobu San Diego and Benihana of San Diego. Since Nobu San Diego’s opening day in 2007, Chef Ray has been responsible for consistently preparing high quality food in a fast paced environment. As a sushi chef, Ray made the menu his own by introducing a fresh new take on Japanese cuisine.
